Ohanae for Windows

Click on Windows Desktop to download the Ohanae Desktop version. After completing the download, run OhanaeSetup.exe file and complete the installation process. The process also includes the installation of Internet Explorer browser extensions (32/64-bit).

Note: For Chrome, download the browser extension from the Chrome Store. For Mozilla Firefox, download from the Mozilla store.

1. Select "Settings".

2. Select "Sign out".

This is the example of install extension on Chrome Browser

1. Launch Chrome Browser.

2. Click the icon and select "Extensions".

3. Click the icon next to "Extensions".

4. Select "Open Chrome Web Store".

5. Search for "Ohanae 1-Tap" and add the extensions to your Chrome Browser.

6. Click "Add extension" to complete the process.

1. Click on the '+' to add new password.

2. A page appears to fill in your login details. Enter the application name of your choice and username. (eg. Twitch, Gmail, Amazon).

Note: Each field has a maximum character length.

3. The system will generate a strong password based on the parameters (user-defined) or you may manually enter a password of your choice.

4. Click "Generate" or "Save" to complete the process.

1. Click on the '+' to add new password.

2. Click on the 'Browse Application' icon.

3. Select a domain from the list.

4. Fill in login details.

Note: Each field has a maximum character length.

5. The system will generate a strong password based on the parameters (user-defined) or you may manually enter a password of your choice.

6. Click "Generate" or "Save" to complete the process.

Option 1 : Default Sign In Method

1. Select the domain and username. The password is automatically copied to the clipboard.

2. Go to your desire wesbite.

3. Enter your username. Copy and paste the password from Ohanae app.

Option 2 : Sign in with browser extension activated and 1-Tap Login enabled

1. From your preferred browser, go to the desire website, click on the username field, and select the desired username from the dropdown menu.

2. The password associated with this account will be dynamically reproduced, and automatically inserted into the password field.

You are now ready to login.

Edit Account :

Click the ‘Edit Account’ icon to edit the username or password. The username should be identical to the actual username at the point of account creation from the online service.

Share Password :

You may share your passwords with anyone. Click the "Share" icon and enter the recipient's Ohanae username. A "shared" icon will appear next to the username.

Rollback Password :

In the case that you want to revert to a password previously generated by Ohanae, click the ‘Revert password’ icon.

Delete Account :

Click the ‘Delete icon’ to delete an account.

Your Private folder is uniquely encrypted and the files stored here cannot be read by others. Encrypted files in your private folder have .ohanae file extension.

1. When you login to Ohanae, the app will automatically create a Private folder in your cloud storage account, for example “OneDrive.Ohanae”.

Note: Right click on the cloud storage provider icon to choose cloud sync folder destination if it's not in the default location.

2. To access this folder quickly at any time, simply click on the cloud storage provider icon as seen above.

3. Private folders can also be accessed from the File Explorer.

4. To add file to Private folders, simply move or copy the file into the destination folder.

5. To decrypt, just drag the file out from the Private folder.

In a collaborative working environment, we often need to share files and folders with multiple groups of people. Secure Shared Folder provides a unique solution to securely share files through cloud storage providers.

With Ohanae, you can create a Secure Shared Folder under your cloud storage account. All files saved in the Secure Shared Folder will be automatically encrypted before they are uploaded to the cloud. The folder can be shared with other users, and only those users in your sharing list will be able to decrypt and access the files in this folder.

The following steps will guide you to create a Secure Shared Folder.

1. Click on the "+" button under Shared Folders and select "Make New Folder"..

2. Enter folder name and click "OK".

3. Select users or groups as authorized users to access files in the Secure Shared Folder.

4. "Mobile View Only" is applicable to the iOS platform. For enterprise user, the following options are available to you: Tracking, Start date, and End date. "Tracking" would enable document owner to track who, when, and where a document is viewed based on geolocation coordinates. "Start date" would allow you to set the date when the recipient can open the file, and "End date" to specify when a file is no longer available for viewing.

5. Click "OK". The Secure Shared Folder is created.

To add a file to a Secure Shared Folder, simply move or copy the file into the folder. The file will be encrypted before it is uploaded to the cloud.

You may modify your designated sharing list anytime.

1. Right click on the Secure Shared Folder and Select Manage Shared Folder.

2. Add/delete usernames or sharing groups from the Secure Shared Folder.

Primary Drive initializes a virtual volume on your computer.

Primary Drive works like a local drive on your computer, it is an ideal location to store your files securely before backing them up to your USB hard drive or Ohanae secure cloud drive.

Start Using Primary Drive

1. Run Ohanae app with administrative privileges.

Note: When creating FAT drives, administrator privileges are not needed. For NTFS drives, administrator priviliges are mandatory.

2. Click "+" under Primary Drive and select a destination folder to create the secure volume.

3. Allocate the size of the secure volume. You may choose this according to your requirement.

The secure volume appears as a file with a .vol extension in the destination folder.

This Invicta drive is visible and accessible only when you are logged on to Ohanae. All files stored on this secure volume are transparently encrypted.

Accessing your Primary Drive

You can navigate to this drive any time by clicking on Invicta (Z:) through Ohanae, or by navigating to your destination folder from File Explorer.

Primary Drive performs transparent encryption. To the user, it work as if it is another volume. Files are automatically encrypted when added to the drive and decrypted when copy/move from the drive.

Backing up your Data

You can choose to backup/restore your files on your Invicta drive.

1. After setting up your Invicta drive, it will be visible under the Primary Drive label.

2. Click Backup and select a destination folder to backup your data from the Invicta drive.

3. Click Restore button to restore the data from a previous archive to your Invicta drive.

Secure File Sharing allows you to share files securely with anyone using any delivery mechanism of your choice such as email, WhatsApp, etc.

Secure Shared Folder vs. Secure File Sharing

Secure Shared Folder is applicable to Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive. The sharing mechanism is cloud storage provider specific.

All encrypted files are saved in your local C:/Users/Your-Computer-name/Shared Files folder.

There are multiple ways of viewing your Secure Shared Files. Make sure you are logged into your Ohanae client.

1. Open the Secure File Sharing tab and click on the file name to decrypt and open the file.

Click “Open Folder” to open the destination folder containing your encrypted shared files.

Checking the "Start with Windows" box causes Ohanae to launch at startup.

Check this box to enjoy uninterrupted security from the moment you log into your machine.

Ohanae sharing app provides a passphrase lock when you are inactive for a certain duration of time (determined by you). This security feature allows Ohanae to prevent any sensitive information such as passwords from being accessed by a third-party in your absence.

Allows Ohanae to automatically erase your browser's history, cache and cookies every time you exit from the Ohanae app.

Removes all session data and newly created files that are not stored in protected folders when you log out of Ohanae.

You may toggle off the “Enable 1-Tap Login” option to disable 1-Tap Login Browser Extension.

1. Select "Secure File Sharing".

2. Select "Invite to Ohanae".

3. Enter email address to invite new user. New User will receive an email with instructions to set up his/her account.

1. Select "Account".

2. Select "Passphrase Recovery".

3. Select "Add Users" and enter your Trustee's Username/Email.

4. You need a minimum of 2 Trustees. Select your trustees and Select "Add Users".

To modify file sharing list, click Manage Group.

To check for updates for Ohanae for Windows.

1. Enter your old passphrase.

2. Enter your new passphrase.

3. Re-enter your new passphrase to confirm.

4. Click Update. A popup notification confirms your passphrase change is successful.

If you have purchased Ohanae premium, or wish to extend your validity, enter your activation code in the given textbox and click Recharge.

If you are a Premium user and are using multiple devices, you can manage your devices by clicking “Manage Devices”. You can choose to edit the device name or deactivate any of your registered devices.
